Why Outside Eats

Curated quality

Every restaurant on Outside Eats is rated 4 stars or higher on Google. No filler, no paid placements in the listings.

Loads instantly

Restaurant data is built into the app. No waiting for results to load — everything is ready the moment you open it.

Hyper local

Built specifically for the Bay Area Peninsula. Every city from Belmont to Sunnyvale, with real neighborhood coverage.

Works on any device

Use it in your browser or add it to your phone's home screen for a full app experience. No App Store required.

How it works

1

Choose your city

Select from 19 Bay Area cities in the dropdown. The restaurant list loads instantly from pre-built data — no waiting.

2

Browse or filter

Scroll through all restaurants sorted by rating, or use the cuisine filter to narrow to exactly what you're in the mood for.

3

Read reviews and go

Tap the star rating to read Google reviews. Tap Map to get directions. Tap Website to see the menu. That's it.

Add to your home screen

Outside Eats works like a native app on both iOS and Android. No App Store, no download — just tap and go.

iPhone & iPad iOS

  1. Open outside-eats.com in Safari (must be Safari, not Chrome)
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap Add in the top right corner
  5. The Outside Eats icon will appear on your home screen

The app will open full screen without the browser address bar, just like a native app.

Android Android

  1. Open outside-eats.com in Chrome
  2. Look for the Install app banner at the bottom of the screen and tap it. If you don't see it, continue to step 3.
  3. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner of Chrome
  4. Tap Add to Home screen
  5. Tap Add to confirm

Android may show an automatic install prompt the first time you visit. Either method works.
