Hey Yogurt at 310 S San Mateo Drive is the newest venture from the team behind Gao Viet Kitchen, opening in September 2026 as part of a growing national chain with locations across the US. The San Mateo shop is the Bay Area’s first Hey Yogurt, positioned as a healthier and more fruit-forward alternative in a downtown already saturated with boba shops.
The menu centers on three formats: yogurt smoothies blended with real fresh fruit, Korean-style bingsu (shaved milk ice topped with fruit and toppings), and self-serve froyo. Signature flavors include mango yogurt smoothie, peach yogurt, green grape matcha strawberry, matcha mango yogurt, matcha oreo, and red bean yogurt. The drinks are consistently described by early visitors as refreshing and lighter than typical dessert drinks, with the matcha oreo yogurt smoothie emerging as an early fan favorite. All drinks are made with fresh ingredients with no artificial flavorings. The shop is located directly across the street from Gao Kitchen on S San Mateo Drive. Open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM.
