This longtime cafe on the Pacifica Pier was demolished in June after the pier itself cracked and was deemed unsafe. A GoFundMe for the owners has raised more than $34,000.

Several concepts share one roof, spanning Southern brunch favorites, island-style seafood and grill, French-inspired salads and California-style sushi burritos, with a vintage Caffe Truck pouring classic Italian espresso drinks. Named dishes include a custard-based French toast with pork floss and kinako mochi. Ty Mahler and Jeanne Chang operate the project, which occupies the old Benjamin Franklin hotel building in downtown San Mateo and is presented as a welcoming gathering place.
