Lab & Hound is a wine bar and tasting room from Half Moon Bay natives Kara and Marc Baker, named for their two chocolate Labs and a rescued bloodhound. The list focuses on California wines from small producers in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara and the Santa Cruz Mountains, alongside eight craft beers and two ciders. Food centers on meat and cheese boards from local farms. There is a communal front room and a private tasting room in back, with a speakeasy-meets-wine-bar look and Western rustic touches. Regular events include a locals night and monthly winemaker tastings.
