La Costeña is a Mexican restaurant in Mountain View, California.
La Costena began in Mountain View in 1984 as a family-owned grocery store selling burritos from the back counter, and the customizable burrito bar is still a staple of the menu. The kitchen now covers tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, plates, nachos, bowls and salads, with meats including carne asada, carnitas, pollo adobado, pollo en mole and chile verde. For Cinco de Mayo in 1997, the restaurant and community members gathered at Rengstorff Park to attempt the Guinness World Record for the largest burrito, assembling a chorizo and potato burrito from more than 5,000 tortillas and 28 gallons of salsa within the 90 minutes the health department allowed.
