Authentic Thai food served by temple volunteers, supporting the local monastery and community.
Pahk Soi on Poplar Avenue in San Bruno offers Thai food in a setting connected to a Buddhist monastery and its volunteer community. That connection gives a meal here a different character from a conventional restaurant visit. We like the opportunity to support that community while exploring a varied selection of Thai dishes. Beef and pork noodle soups provide warming choices, while khao mun gai offers a chicken-and-rice direction. Pad see ew, basil stir-fries, and papaya salad bring other familiar preparations into the mix, with some dishes offering a stronger level of spice. Thai tea and mango sticky rice can round out the meal. The appeal is a casual, community-centered food stop with enough Thai variety to encourage trying more than one dish.
