A classic old-fashioned diner in San Mateo serving scratch-made breakfasts and lunches with nothing frozen, open seven days a week. Nothing frozen, all pasta and chowder made from scratch.
Neal's Coffee Shop calls itself an old fashioned diner, with an open kitchen and both indoor and outdoor seating. Nothing is frozen, and the pasta and chowder are made from scratch. Buttermilk pancakes, omelets, waffles, burgers, steaks and a turkey scramble fill the menu. Neal started working at the Burlingame restaurant in 1987 and later took it over with partners, opening the San Mateo location in 2001.
