The Original Pancake House is a Breakfast restaurant in Los Altos, California.
The Original Pancake House was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke, who built the menu around authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes. Batters and sauces are made fresh in each restaurant's kitchen, using 93 score butter and fresh grade AA eggs. Signature plates include the Apple Pancake baked with sauteed apples and cinnamon sugar, the oven-baked Dutch Baby served with lemon, butter and powdered sugar, a mushroom omelet with homemade sherry sauce, and a cherry kijafa crepe made with tart cherries and Danish cherry wine. The family business now spans more than 100 franchises.
