Thai and dim sum cafe with pho, pad thai, satay, mango sticky rice, and crab rangoons in a warm neighborhood setting.
What A Meals brings Thai dishes and Chinese dim sum together at Half Moon Bay's Strawflower Shopping Center. That combination makes the menu especially appealing for a mixed order: a plate of noodles can share the table with dumplings, buns, and seafood. We like the freedom to build a meal across those different styles. Basil-scented pad kee mao and fried rice offer substantial starting points, while wonton soup combines pork dumplings and shrimp in a warming bowl. Pork buns and har gow add smaller bites, and whole fried fish offers a larger centerpiece. Tofu satay, shrimp rice rolls, and sesame balls provide further ways to vary the order. The restaurant's appeal is its unusual breadth for a small neighborhood spot, making it possible to follow a familiar Thai craving and discover a dim sum accompaniment.
