7 Mile House

American$$

The Bay Area's oldest restaurant and bar since 1858 in Brisbane, serving American comfort food with Filipino touches, live music, and a legendary dog-friendly patio.

7 Mile House at 2800 Bayshore Boulevard in Brisbane holds the distinction of being the Bay Area's oldest restaurant and bar, operating continuously under the same name at the same location since 1858 — 168 years and counting. The building itself is steeped in local history, and the restaurant offers a self-guided virtual tour covering the bar, the patio, historic photos, and the stories behind the details that make it a one-of-a-kind Peninsula institution. The menu spans American comfort food with Filipino influences, anchored by burgers, wings, sandwiches, and hearty plates. Happy hour runs daily from 3 to 6 PM with $7 shots, cocktails, draft beers, house wines, and appetizers. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday. Live music returns every first Friday featuring The Hookahs, a band that includes owner Vanessa Garcia on percussion. The dog program is extensive: 7 Mile House has been voted SF Weekly's best dog-friendly restaurant five years running, with a dog menu featuring dog beer, cigars, and ice cream, daily yappy hour, a V.I.D. (Very Important Dog) Club, and dog birthday pawties. Private events, full-service catering, grazing boards, and buffet parties are all available. The annual Adobo Cookoff and Ube Bakeoff are among the restaurant's most popular community events.
