Palo Alto's only authentic French crepe cafe since 2006, using batter and equipment imported directly from France.
Bistro Maxine opened in downtown Palo Alto in June 2006 and specializes in French crepes. The batter mix, the brass-ring bistro tables, the rattan chairs, and the crepe griddles are all imported from France, and buckwheat batter is kept on hand for a traditional galette au sarrasin. Savory crepes include the Complete, Champignon a la creme, Cevenole, and Saumon, while sweet versions run to Citron, Banane Nutella, Suzette, and pomme cannelle caramel. Espresso drinks arrive in traditional bowls.
