Izakaya-inspired bar and restaurant with Japanese-influenced small plates, craft cocktails, sake, and a late-night vibe popular with the downtown Menlo Park crowd.
Drunken Monk runs an izakaya menu in Menlo Park built around yakitori, with skewers of momo thigh, negima with leek, tsukune chicken meatball, kawa chicken skin and sunagimo gizzard. Grilled collars such as hamachi kama and kanpachi kama sit alongside gyoza, takoyaki and sea salt edamame. Rice bowls and udon fill out the rest of the list, from gyudon and oyako don to tantan udon and a vegan udon. A yakitori omakase and a sake selection are also offered.
