Karilagan

Filipino$$

Authentic Philippine cuisine since 2003 featuring generous portions of traditional dishes.

Karilagan makes room for the full range of Filipino comfort food, from garlic-rice breakfasts to soups, noodles, and dishes worth sharing. At this South San Francisco restaurant on El Camino Real, the all-day breakfast selection includes tapsilog and longsilog, served with garlic fried rice and eggs. We like having that breakfast option alongside a substantial lunch and dinner menu. The choices become especially interesting when you mix textures and sauces: lumpiang Shanghai pork rolls, sizzling sisig with jalapeño and onion, chicken adobo, and kare-kare with oxtail, tripe, vegetables, and peanut sauce. Pancit bihon and tamarind-based sinigang broaden the meal, while halo-halo, banana turon, and leche flan give dessert its own appeal. With party trays and catering also available, Karilagan is a useful South San Francisco Filipino restaurant to know when the occasion calls for several dishes and plenty of variety.
