Multiple Palo Alto Weekly Best Ambience and Best Latin American winner with Cuban ropa vieja, rum cocktails, and a heated California Avenue patio.
La Bodeguita del Medio has stood on California Avenue in Palo Alto since 1997, taking its name and inspiration from the legendary original in Havana. Cuban-inspired plates include the signature house-made pork picadillo empanadas, mariquitas plantain chips, potato croquetas with aged manchego, shrimp ceviche and pan roasted mussels in Cuban table oil. Aged rums, cigars and specialty cocktails carry the bar side, spread across a dining room, the Divan and an outdoor patio.
