Israeli-inspired restaurant on Castro Street from Oren Dobronsky, beloved for silky hummus with warm pita, shakshuka brunch, and fresh Middle Eastern small plates.
Oren's Hummus started on University Avenue in Palo Alto and has been a Bay Area fixture since 2011, with locations that now include Mountain View. Pita and hummus are prepared fresh several times a day, and the restaurant says many ingredients, tahini among them, are imported from the Mediterranean. The kitchen uses Angus beef, all natural chicken, organic eggs, and produce from local family farms, and avoids preservatives and substitutes. Happy hour, catering, and first Wednesday wine tastings are part of the program.
