Old school Italian with traditional Southern Italian cuisine and exceptional seafood, rooted in founder Vincenzo's Italian fishing heritage.
Ristorante Buon Gusto on Grand Avenue in South San Francisco has an old-school Italian menu that encourages a leisurely dinner. Pasta, veal, chicken, and seafood each have a substantial place in the selection. We like the balance between comforting baked dishes and lighter seafood preparations, giving a mixed group plenty to choose from. Homemade lasagne, cannelloni, and gnocchi offer familiar starting points, while linguine with clams or mixed seafood takes the meal toward the coast. Cioppino, sole, and seafood risotto broaden that direction further. Antipasto for two or fried calamari can begin a shared order, and a wine list and full bar accompany the food. Buon Gusto's appeal is its traditional Italian range and relaxed dinner format, well suited to family gatherings or a meal for two.
