Nepali restaurant in downtown Palo Alto serving handmade momos, gorkhali chicken, and Himalayan street food as part of the neighborhood's new wave of openings.
Urban Momo brings Nepali dumplings and Indian comfort food together on University Avenue in Palo Alto. Chicken and vegetable momos give the menu its namesake focus, with hand-made steamed dumplings served alongside achaar dipping sauce. We like that they can be the main reason to visit or the opening dish in a broader shared meal. Himali chicken chili and gobi Manchurian bring chili-garlic flavors into the selection, while chow mein offers a noodle-based alternative. Butter chicken and paneer tikka masala provide familiar curry choices, accompanied by rice and naan. Samosas and seasoned mushrooms give the starters additional range. Urban Momo's appeal is the chance to connect a plate of Nepali dumplings with neighboring Indian and Indo-Chinese flavors, building a meal that can stay focused on one craving or explore several at once.
