Award-winning Indian kitchen one block from Stanford combining north and south regional dishes with a beloved weekday lunch buffet since the 1980s.
Darbar Indian Cuisine offers several ways to put together an Indian meal on Lytton Avenue in downtown Palo Alto. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian thali dinners provide a ready-made combination, while the à la carte menu invites you to mix curries, tandoori dishes, and appetizers. We like that flexibility, particularly when some diners want a complete individual meal and others prefer to share. Butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, dal makhni, and shahi paneer give the selection familiar anchors. Tandoori prawns, seekh kabab, and paneer tikka add grilled choices, while samosas, pakoras, and lentil fritters broaden the starters. South Indian dishes contribute another regional dimension. With rice, naan, and mango lassi among the accompaniments, Darbar's appeal is a varied menu that makes room for both familiar favorites and a little exploration.
