Nothing is frozen; all pasta and chowder made from scratch.
An old fashioned diner with an open kitchen, Neal's serves omelets, buttermilk pancakes, and a turkey scramble in the morning and moves on to the Neal's burger, a New York steak sandwich, chicken fried steak, and sole fillet later in the day. Nothing on the menu is frozen, and the pasta and chowder are made from scratch. Neal began working at the Burlingame shop in 1987 and later partnered to take it over, opening a San Mateo location in 2001. Indoor and outdoor seating, take-out, and private parties are all available.
