Alpine recipes from Matteo's Nonna featuring braised meats and housemade gnocchi.
A downtown Burlingame fixture since 2005, Stella was founded by Matteo and Alisa Ferrari to bring Alpine cooking from Northern Italy to the Peninsula. Braised meats, risottos, pastas, and ragus follow recipes passed down from Matteo's Nonna in Valduggia. The space holds a 20-seat horseshoe-shaped bar, an intimate second-floor wine bridge, and six private dining areas including a heated covered patio, with room for as many as 300 guests at a reception.
