Silicon Valley legend at 3062 Woodside Road open since 1991 where Hotmail, Tesla, and PayPal were founded over pancakes.
Buck's opened in Woodside in 1991 after its founder, a former builder, could not find a good place to eat in town. The dining room doubles as a living museum, with rotating folk art, model planes, vintage memorabilia, cowboy boots, a Soviet space suit, and a Shaquille O'Neal shoe. Separate breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus run daily, and pancakes are the signature item; the restaurant recounts that PayPal was funded over them, along with launches tied to Hotmail, Netscape, and Tesla. The founding family's next generation now runs it.
