Specialty lamb kabobs and slow cooked traditional Afghan delicacies.
A San Carlos fixture since 1989, Kabul Afghan Cuisine serves halal Afghan cooking built on family recipes. Charbroiled kababs of lamb, chicken, beef, salmon and jumbo shrimp are marinated in herbs and spices and cooked to order, alongside quabili pallaw, slow-braised lamb with basmati rice, carrots and raisins, and hand-crafted mantoo dumplings over a garlic-yogurt base. Afghani naan is baked in house daily, and the family-run dining room has white tablecloths and arched walls hung with Afghan textiles.
