Palo Alto landmark since 1972 in a 1918 Julia Morgan building, famous for award-winning mesquite BBQ baby back ribs and prime rib.
MacArthur Park occupies a Julia Morgan building on University Avenue in Palo Alto, built as a Hostess House for troops at Camp Fremont during World War I and now California Historical Landmark No. 895. The restaurant launched in 1981 under chef Faz Poursohi and restaurateur Chuck Frank, who took full ownership in 2008. Classic American comfort food and barbecue drive the menu, led by slow-cooked baby back pork ribs and joined by rack of lamb, bone-in New York steak, filet mignon, wild salmon and Cobb salad. The space keeps fireplace seating, private dining rooms and a covered patio.
