Monsoon Himalayan Cuisine gives a Half Moon Bay meal a welcome Himalayan direction, with handmade momos and family recipes providing an inviting starting point. Chef Ram and his family prepare their spice blends in-house, and we like how the menu moves between Nepali specialties and familiar Indian curries. Vegetable-and-tofu or chicken dumplings make it easy to begin with something shareable. For a more varied introduction, the combination meals bring rice, saag, dal and other dishes together, with vegetarian and chicken versions available. Himalayan goat curry, lamb choila with rice flakes, and wild-salmon coconut curry offer additional paths to explore. Pakoras, paneer chili and noodle dishes broaden the selection, including several clearly marked vegan choices. On Stone Pine Road, Monsoon's appeal lies in the balance of approachable comfort food and regional specialties that make a coastside dinner feel a little different.
