Family-owned since 1985, known as home of the famous margarita.
Fernando's Mexican Restaurant offers the flexibility of a classic Mexican and Tex-Mex combination plate. Its San Mateo menu includes enchiladas, burritos, steak and chicken fajitas, and carne asada, with small and large combinations that let you shape the meal to your appetite. We like that the sides offer choices too, including refried, black, or whole pinto beans. Many plates come with rice and beans plus a choice of coleslaw or chicken tortilla soup. Fillings include chicken, shredded beef, chile verde, and chile colorado, while separate seafood and chicken sections provide more possibilities. Appetizers and salads can round out an order, and the children's selection helps a family choose together. Fernando's appeal is a broad, approachable menu that makes it easy to return to a favorite combination or switch between fajitas, enchiladas, and a more substantial meat or seafood plate.
